A Little Stretching Never Hurt Anybody

"How long are you going to sit like this?"

"As long as it takes to feel better,"

Pidge was on the floor of the training room, trying his best to stretch every ache and knot out of his body. The thing about having a smart enemy, aside from their main enemy the kept trying to put them 6 feet under even after his
own death, was that they were leagues more dangerous.

Lance was standing by the door, trying to make sense of just how Pidge could bend that far into his stretch. It came with the territory of being a ninja he guessed, even though Pidge never completed his formal training he kept up the regimen he was given as time went on.

He watched as Pidge bent further into what would be only agonizing for himself if he even attempted it, beat up or not. But with that final pull, both boys heard something pop, and Pidge let out a content sigh,

"Thank the ancestors… I was starting to think it was another spot I just had to deal with aching,"

He got out of the stretch and went into yet another to help the rest of his achy body before turning to Lance,

"Y'know this show isn't free, right? Either join me or pay up, I charge for my time."

Lance let out an airy laugh, "Yoga isn't my thing short-stack, I'd probably dislodge a joint if I even tried to do what you were doing!"

Pidge had refocused on his stretching and was going through the motions of switching to another,

"Well
duh, I've been doing yoga for ages! I'll give you some easy ones, especially because I'm not the only one beat up after that fight,"

Lance thought back to the battle from barely even an hour ago. It was another robeast, leading to the same mission they've always had: Keeping the universe safe, stopping Arus from being destroyed, and slicing and dicing up the monster of the week. Whatever Maahox had done to this one though, proved he knew exactly what to put into his monstrosity to give them a hard time. Maahox had used haggarium to make it, that the team all knew, but there was something different to the robeasts of old that it put to shame with its mere actions. It was calculated, it didn't blindly rush at them in anger and insanity, it knew exactly what it was doing and the fact that it was a giant spider-lion mix, 'Lider' Hunk's voice said in his head, made that fact even worse. The webs had been strategically placed both on Arus, where they first saw it, and in its system of planets it had tied together using them. Waiting for the time the team would slip up and give it a perfect opening.

He laughed a little, remembering Pidge's arachnophobia that only ever affects him if the spider is at least as big as his hand, which isn't even that big to begin with. The entire time the video feeds were on, Pidge's face held a mixture of disgust, fear, and even curiosity as he saw just how intelligent the robeast was. It had been about a month since they last saw the robeast on its planet, and it had come for revenge. They managed to chase it off, but not without being practically mauled by the thing, especially with the claws it had inherited from Wade's own lion mech that it had merged with.

"
HelloOo? You in there still, or did the alcohol you chugged earlier finally affect your mind instead of your body?" Asked Pidge, slightly annoyed with not receiving an answer for so long,

"Oh please, you know it takes more than what I had to do any kind of damage to me" Lance told him,

Lance walked over to the large mat Pidge was stretching on, it cushioned most of the room which is why the team always tried to leave it out for days like these, and because they were too lazy to put it away. He took off his boots, and jacket, to match Pidge who was also bootless while stretching.

"Gasp!" Pidge said dramatically, "Where do I look! You're practically naked, Lance, at least treat me to dinner before you strip!"

"Nothing wrong with dinner
and a show pipsqueak" flirted Lance, "So what's first boss-man, downward dog?"

Pidge rolled his eyes, though not hiding the smile on his face, "Yes actually, stretching from the bottom might be easier for you, especially because of your personal experiences,"

He laughed, Pidge might be about a handful of years younger than him, but they practically grew up together, making them more alike than anyone could tell at first glance. The jokes had kept rolling off the tongue between the two, changing from the saucy kind they started with, to general puns and sideswipes and the annoyances they'd dealt with as of late. Lance didn't want to admit it, but the more they stretched, the better he felt, and the more he realized that his workout needed to be updated. Some of the stretches Pidge led him through had stretched areas he didn't even know could be stretched; others just smacked him in the face with how weak they were from being ignored in the first place. By the end both boys had felt way better than when they'd first started, stretching wasn't the cure all, but it helped a ton.

They laid in the lounge, icing the rest of their bruises and sores, and complaining about anything that crossed their mind to distract from their own bodies complaining at them. Being almost pulled apart by a robeast never felt any good, but a little stretching never hurt anybody.
